vMix Boot Camp: Using Dante with vMix
For the latest installment of our vMix Bootcamp series, we explore the best ways to utilize Dante audio while operating vMix. Dante audio, developed by Audinate, is a combination of software, hardware, and network protocols that delivers uncompressed, multi-channel, low-latency digital audio over a standard Ethernet network. vMix is a software vision mixer developed by StudioCoast that allows users to switch inputs, mix audio, record outputs, and live stream cameras, videos files, audio, and more, in resolutions of up to 4K.
vMix Boot Camp looks to teach producers how to bulid a show from front to back, combine remote and on-prem production and generally get up to speed on this powerful remote production tool.
vMix is an incredibly powerful software vision mixer that allows users to switch inputs, mix audio, record outputs, and live stream cameras in resolutions of up to 4K. The two major system requirements for vMix are Windows 7 or higher and a DirectX 10 compatible graphics card. Minimum 2Ghz Dual-Core Processor is required (though an Intel Core i7 Processor 3Ghz+ is preferred) along with 2GB DDR3 memory. You'll also want a 7200 RPM Hard Drive for recordings.
