How To Make A Bees Knees | Cocktail Masterclass Drink Recipe
Here we demonstrate how to make the classic prohibition-era gin drink, the Bees Knees. This simple yet elegant cocktail consists of gin, lemon juice, orange juice and honey syrup, shaken and served straight-up in a chilled martini glass.
An almost perfect balance of dryness, sharpness, strength and sweetness the Bees Knees is a drink that’s suited to both seasoned cocktail enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike and one that is as easy to make as it is to drink.
INGREDIENTS:
-40ml Gin
-20ml Honey syrup
-10ml Orange Juice
-25ml Lemon Juice
-Lemon Twist for Garnish
EQUIPMENT:
-Shaker
-Jigger/Measure
-Hawthorn Strainer
-Elbow Press
-Cubed Ice
METHOD:
1) Chill your martini glass or coupette in the freezer or fill with ice
2) Using your jigger to measure, add the gin, honey syrup and orange juice to your Boston glass or shaker
3) Squeeze 25ml of lemon juice and add to the shaker
4) Fill shaker with cubed ice and seal
5) Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds
6) Strain into your chilled martini glass
7) Garnish with a lemon twist
8) Serve and enjoy
