The DS 918+ NAS from Synology is a Powerful and scalable 4-bay NAS with a throughput of over 225 MB/s read and 221 MB/s write speeds It features a Quad-core processor with AES-NI hardware encryption engine. And because its a Plus model, it comes as an X86 CPU instead of ARM which means that you can run Virtual Machines like Windows 10 straight from the NAS.
The DS918+ model comes with 4GB DDR3L-1866 memory pre-installed but this can be expanded up to 8GB. And the other unique feature of this Synology NAS is the dedicated M.2 NVMe SSD slots for system cache support.
