Jack starts the show with a story out of the Willingdon Youth Detention Centre in Burnaby. Jack speaks with a young offender “Peter”, who is in detention for an armed robbery and who self-harms. Jack asks how and why he self-slashes. Then, Jack speaks with ten young men at the Willingdon and asks them about themselves and what could be done better at the centre. Jack speaks with Gordon Hogg, the YDC Director, about the system for feeding the residents; self-harming behaviours; recreational opportunities. The next story is about the Gitxsan Carrier Tribal Council land claim of 21,000 square miles near Burns Lake and Hazelton. In the studio, Jack speaks with Neil Sterritt, President, Gitxsan/Wet’suwet’en Tribal Council, and the Gitxsan/Wet’suwet’en lawyer, Louise Mandell. Jack opens the phone lines. To end the show Jack speaks with from Tom Holmes, President of I.C.B.C., and Chairman of the United Way, about the United Way campaign.
