So this was an experiment I was doing for my own curiosity n some of y'all might be interested too. Long story short, I like the Mk2's Vinyl Sims and I think they're fairly true to their roots. If anything I would say the Mk2's versions are smoother, less jagged than the machines, sometimes a little more subtle which can be a good thing.

404 Vinyl Sim:
I really like that when you turn on the Mk2's 404 Vinyl Sim, even with all the controls set to 0, it colours the sound a little and makes it more gritty.
The FREQ ctrl, although now turns the opposite direction, sounds pretty damn close to the 404a.
The NOISE is pretty much the same, the Mk2 noise can be turned up louder.
The WOW FLUT I find is more subtle than the 404a, a little less VHS-tape-caught-in-VCR.

303 Vinyl Sim:
The SP-303 is raw and abrasive in almost everything it does. I will never stop loving that machine. The Mk's works really really close to it but, like I said before, I find it smoother and fatter - esp if you listen to the low end.
When you turn up the COMP on the SP-303 it's like lowering the ceiling in a room, it gets softer in volume as it gets squashed. When you turn up the Comp on the Mk2 it's like raising the floor in a room, getting louder as it's squashed. I dig that.
Again, the NOISE sounds pretty damn close between both machines.
I think the WOW FLUT is also pretty similar, maybe the SP-303 does deeper, I dunno...I mean, if you making a beat and you got that WOW FLUT knob cranked you a psychpath and I respect you.

404 → 303 Vinyl Sim Together:
The most lofi gansta of all vinyl sim plays, running the 404 into the 303 with both vinyl sims on. The setting I use in this demo is what I would use almost everytime if I was going down this road.
This one I'm not going to give my opinion on, I leave it to y'all to decide - it's all subjective after all.

Being able to stack two effects on Buses 3 & 4 is such a dope functionality. Here's where you could squash the crap outta it with the Compressor effect (They added RATIO to it and it's amazing how it changes the effect...a video for another day) then EQ to sharp the sound...or Cassette Sim...or Warm Saturation...anyway, combing the two vinyl sims here is such a cool thing. Also, coz you can change the overall volume of a whole back (say your Drums are on A, chops on B) - you can set the 303 COMP then adjust Bank B's volume until it's side chaining to taste...

So...that's my 2 cents...what do y'all think?
