How to Apply Dynamic Watermarks in Documents | CaseGuard Studio
In this video, we will go over the “Dynamic Text (external) Watermark” feature CaseGuard has to offer for documents.
To access the watermarks setting, first open the “Pages” panel, which can be found in the main menu under “View,” “Panels,” and “Pages.”
-Or navigate all the way to the right side of the screen and hover over the “Pages” tab and click on the pin icon at the top.
Select “Load Pages” and select the watermark icon below to begin using this feature
Click on “Add New Watermark”
Add the “Watermark Name”; we recommend always using descriptive names. Like Confidential, Dynamic Client Copies.
Click "Continue."
The Watermark window will appear, which will give you complete control over the styles and watermark type.
You can select the “Dynamic Text (external input file)” under “Source.”
From the Watermark Type dropdown menu, you will find four different types of watermarks; select “Dynamic Text (external input file)."
You can change the appearance, including backgrounds, transparency, rotation, scale, position, and font styles.
When done, at the top of the screen, you will find another button called “Add Watermark” Click on it to add another watermark.
Let’s try another type of watermark under “Watermark Type” and select “Dynamic Text.”
Select one of the options to print automatically, like “Today.”
Change the position to be at the left bottom corner of the file using the “Position” icons, and make the font size smaller using the “Font” block.
You can always use the Preview to help you see what the watermark version will look like.
Of course, we can add as many watermarks as we want using the “Add Watermark” button, but for now, we will stick with those two.
Click "Next."
Here you will be prompted to select whether you want to apply your watermark(s) to all pages or selected pages; let’s stick with “All Pages.”
Browse your machine to select the “Input File Location”; the file should be in CSV format.
In the “Dynamic Watermark Mapping” section, you will find a checkbox that will ask if you have column names in the first row; check it accordingly.
If your file has many columns in it, select which column to use for your Dynamic Text (external input file). In my case, I had four different columns, so I picked the “Company” column to get a different watermark for each company.
For the Export location, if you want to change the location of the export, change it using the “Browse” button.
Click "Apply."
The system will now produce a number of files that equals the number of rows you have in your CSV file; each file will have two watermarks, one that has the same value as one of your CSV rows and the other is the Today’s date. So if your CSV file has 50 rows, the system will generate 50 new files under your project.
