If your Whirlpool washer has a flashing red lid lock light and won’t start or spin, this video will show you exactly what’s happening and how to fix it.
In this repair, I’m working on a Whirlpool model WTW4816FW3, but this same lid lock system is used on many Whirlpool, Maytag, and Amana top-load washers.
Common Symptoms:
Flashing red lid lock light
Washer stuck on sensing
Washer won’t spin
Clicking noise from lid area
F5 E2 / F5 E1 lid lock errors
