Differentiated Case Management for the Indian Judiciary, by Deepika Kinhal, The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy
Event Name: Indian Legal System Reform: Seminar #2
Event URL: https://xkdr.org/event/indian-legal-s...
In this video, Deepika Kinhal explains the concept of 'Differentiated Case Management' (DCM). Currently there are no transparent rules or processes on how judicial time is spent per case. There is a need to approach the problem of managing judicial time with a scientific and experimentative mindset. She presents an assessment of constitutional bench cases that can be used to understand the concept of DCM. Data driven DCM has the potential to optimise judicial time and resources based on the needs of a case. Such approaches have been relied upon in other jurisdictions.
