Pan Global Resources, under the exploration guidance of Vice President of Exploration Álvaro Merino, is actively exploring for copper in Spain's Iberian Pyrite Belt, a region with a rich mining history dating back 3,000 years. The company is currently focusing on two main projects: Escacena, which includes the promising La Romana discovery, and a newer project in Carmenes. At Escacena, the team is working to extend the La Romana deposit while also investigating new targets such as Bravo, where they recently began a soil geochemistry campaign and gravity survey.
Merino, with 25 years of international exploration experience, leads a team of six geologists employing a multidisciplinary approach to exploration. They utilize a combination of geological mapping, geochemistry, gravity surveys, and planned IP surveys to identify and assess potential mineralization. The team also leverages historical data from ancient Roman mines and more recent exploration efforts from the 1980s. As Pan Global advances towards defining a resource at La Romana, they continue to reprocess and analyze data, aiming to gain a deeper understanding of the geology and potentially uncover additional copper deposits in this prolific mining region.
