VS Code SQLTools Password Authentication Failed for User "postgres" | Fix Cached Password Issue
In this video, I show how to fix the SQLTools error:
"password authentication failed for user postgres"
Problem:
Entered wrong password once in SQLTools
SQLTools saved the wrong password
It stopped asking for password again
Solution:
Click the Accounts (Person) icon in VS Code
Sign out/remove SQLTools stored credentials
Recreate the connection
Enter the correct PostgreSQL password
This works for recent versions of VS Code and SQLTools. Users have reported that deleting the stored SQLTools Driver Credentials from the Accounts menu fixes the issue.
