I picked up this palm-sized XTE-ink X4 fully expecting to hate it... and it's become one of my favourite gadgets in ages.
It's a tiny, non-touch, no-backlight e-ink reader that lives in that useless little jeans pocket and quietly hijacks the "reach for the phone and doomscroll" habit. In this one I run through the hardware, the Cross Ink custom firmware, KOReader syncing across my other e-readers, and why pure black & white e-ink still beats colour for actual reading. Plus a teaser for some 3D-printed cases and bag clips I'm designing for it.
