Parabola analysis is a big part of our homeschool algebra 2 curriculum. We will analyze the parabola by hand, commonly known as an analytical algebra.
The video explains how we examine the limiting behavior of a quadratic function. This means examining what happens to y as x gets really big and approaches infinity to the right on a plot, or as x gets really negative and approaches negative infinity to the left on a plot. Quadratics have either an x squared or a y squared in the equation, but not both (Ex. y = x2 or x = y2).
The video shows how to plot a parabola by hand, which leads into using a computer app to plot simple parabolas to save time.
