Learn how to contour like a professional with this simple beginners beauty tutorial.

A little bit of contouring can really help to define and set a makeup look. While it is more applicable for evening makeup looks, it can still work as a daytime look

The main purpose of contouring is to create dark and light spots on the face which helps control how light hits the face. This then helps to create structure and define facial features.

To contour you should generally use a bronzer and an angled blush brush. The bronzer should be applied after foundation has been set with a suitable setting powder.

The first area that we want to apply our bronzer to is in the hollows of our cheek bones. To find these take a makeup brush and align it with the top part of your ear and corner of your lips. This is generally how you will find the hollows of your cheek bones.
Creating a dark line by applying bronzer in this are will help your cheek bones pop.

The other area that you want to apply your bronzer is on the jawline as it will help to slim and round your jawline.

The final area is on the corners of the forehead as it will slim the forehead.

Overall by contouring and highlighting you can really help to create structure and define the face. Any evening make up look can really come alive with a carefully placed contouring.
