RECORD MASCHINE MIDI IN FL STUDIO
Recording MIDI from Maschine MK3 into FL Studio Using MIDI Cable Through
In this video I'm going to show you how to record MIDI directly into FL Studio from your Maschine controller.
What You Need:
Maschine controller (MK2, Studio, or MK3)
Maschine software (2 or 3, possibly 1)
FL Studio
A keyboard or audio interface with both a USB connection and five-pin MIDI In/Out ports
USB cables and a five-pin MIDI cable
The through device does not have to be a keyboard. Many audio interfaces also have five-pin MIDI In and Out ports and will work the same way.
How the Signal Flows:
MIDI travels from the Maschine controller's MIDI Out, into the MIDI In on your through device. From there it moves through USB into your computer. Maschine does not send MIDI directly into FL Studio in a clean way on its own, so this is the workaround.
MIDI Settings inside FL:
Maschine MK3 MIDI output device set to Port 1
Keyboard/Interface ports 1/2 Enabled
FL Studio Setup:
Open an empty project
Insert Maschine as a plugin
Set up the MK3 output group
Click the gear icon at the top of the Maschine window and change the output port to 1
