Steel Slab Concealed | PC | Kilmartin
Still in Scotland this week in the tiny village of Kilmartin in Argyll & Bute. A good 45 minutes from Oban there isn't much else around and I was properly caught short by now anyway. A promising looking little public block by the Kilmartin Hotel has this steel slab urinal and a single WC with a Dudley Tri-Shell, which I didn't waste water flushing as it's been very well documented elsewhere.
Probably wall-mounted originally, the current urinal cistern is hidden out of reach and out of sight up in the roof. The switch on the ceiling marked "Do not touch" is presumably connected to the valve on the inlet to the cistern and offers the only way to stop it from flushing, perhaps for when the toilets are not in use. Marks on the wall suggest something has been leaking. A good long flush but the water was slow to drain.
