How a Civil War era Cavalry Trooper Would Draw His Revolver from Reverse
Some Cavalry Troopers carried their revolver in the reverse draw postion. They had their saber on the left side and their secondary weapon on the right, usually slung off to the side. By having a carbine or shotgun sling off to the side while on horseback, the Cavalry trooper would have an easier time drawing a revolver from the “reverse draw” otherwise known as a “Cavalry Draw”. This short shows how the Civil War era Cavalry Trooper would draw.
