Los Angeles Marathon (LAM) 2025 | Race & Weekend
Los Angeles Marathon 2025! The 40th annual one, and my 6th time running it! LA always delivers in terms of community and cheering support and it definitely has a special place in my list of marathons I've ran. Many first marathoners this time (40% of all signed up) and was also my brother's first as well! If you don't know, he's the guy usually behind the camera always cheering for me at the end of races. He's trained hard and was able to finish despite the cramps. Give him some love!
As for my own race, it was okay! I think I'm at a mental plateau or wall right now where anything below a 6:20/mi pace is such a struggle to maintain. Despite being able to train at paces below that, I can't seem to mentally sustain it during these marathon races. I'll need to really push through that mental hurdle, and put in some work for Boston.
But either way, had a immensely fun time with friends and family, and so grateful for all who came out to support! I'm always blown away by people coming up to me to say hi or just shouting and cheering my name along the course. I really really appreciate them. It always makes my day and has become part of a reason why I love to do these things.
