After an unknown object, dubbed a "meteorite" in the news, fell on the city, strange events began to occur in the area around the impact site, inexplicable by modern science. An expanding zone of anomalous phenomena, dubbed "Area 66," was formed. The military cordoned off the perimeter in an attempt to contain the Zone's expansion. Meanwhile, local residents, having heard of objects of incredible value, increasingly flocked to the Zone in pursuit of "easy money." These people who ventured into the Zone became known as stalkers. The series follows the adventures of one stalker, nicknamed the Wanderer, who found himself in the Zone after the brutal murder of his family by a former police officer. The killer then organized his own group, dubbed the "Lawyers," in the Zone.

The series tells the adventures of a stalker named Hiker, who went to the Zone after the sanguinary murder of his family. The murderer organized his own gang, named "Porks."
