This is a preview chapter from the forthcoming update to my popular Developing For Extended Dynamic Range tutorial series.
In order to create high dynamic range images it is necessary to first capture or "bracket" a series of exposures that encompasses the entire dynamic range of the scene. Knowing when and how to bracket exposures so that you have collected enough detail across the entire light range can be challenging.
