Introducing the e-cam80, a SONY 4K camera that is suitable for drones!
e-CAM80_CUNX is a 8MP Ultra-lowlight MIPI CSI-2 camera capable of streaming 4K @ 44 fps. This 8MP camera is based on SONY STARVIS™ IMX415 CMOS image sensor. This Sony 4K camera can be directly connected with NVIDIA® Jetson Xavier™ NX developer kit and it uses NVIDIA® on-board Jetson Xavier™ NX Image Signal Processor (ISP) to perform all the Auto functions (Auto White Balance, Auto Exposure control). The camera can produce superior image quality in both visible and low light conditions. e-CAM80_CUNX is exposed as a standard V4L2 device and customers can use NVIDIA® 'libargus' APIs to access this camera and control the same. For this flight I used the new WFB-ng System.
This is NOT a fork of any other project!
It is created by Vasily (svpcom) and OpenHD forked it and used it.
Vasily also created the only working patched Realtek rtl8812au driver for the wifibroadcast that OpenHD is using.
So, basically, it’s the “father” of OpenHD!
This VTX software is the only one in the world that can run on Raspberry Pi0/02W/2/3A/3B/3Bmini/4B, Jetson nano/TX2, some other linux based devices (Allwinner H6) and for the first time ever on a X86 Linux computer!
Exactly! You don’t need any additional hardware for the Ground station!🤯
That makes it probably the cheapest available solution for a digital VTX system because almost everyone has an old laptop somewhere around them to test this software. It supports H264 for all hardware and H265 for all Jetson nano series and laptops with a compatible GPU for decoding.
