COQUIHALLA HIGHWAY | Southern B.C. Road Trip Day One
I hit the road in a Southern B.C. Road Trip, taking the Coquihalla Highway 5 north from Vancouver to Kelowna. The Coquihalla provides the shortest land connection between Vancouver and Edmonton and was a toll road until 2008. Today is mainly a travel day, but I found time for a rest stop samosa and a visit to the Train Station Pub in Kelowna BC.
UPDATE: Since filming the South Western parts of British Columbia were subject to intense flooding which severely damaged the Othello tunnels and restricted access to the area. The future of the tunnels remains to be seen, but hoping that this historic landmark can be restored and reopened to the public.
