Note : in square brackets , multiple range for a single character can be given as [a-z0-9A-Z] , as per need.
Hello guys , this video is about standard wildcards that are used in linux for the purpose of matching file names and directory names . These wildcards include asterisk ( * ) , question mark ( ? ) , square brackets ( [] ) and not square brackets ( [!] ) . I also discussed about curly brackets ( {} ) in linux which is useful while using wildcards in linux .I also elaborated the escape character in linux with examples. various terms like wildcard , regex, globbing , globbing patterns and many more are defined . Multiple examples on each wildcard in linux is provided .
