How do you ground your house quickly and easily?
How do you ground your house quickly and easily? What criteria must be met and what conditions must be met for a grounding socket?
Grounding is done by following some rules: it must have a resistance of maximum 4 ohms after measurement. For this, you must make a trench with a depth of at least 80 cm, this being the frost limit of the soil in Romania. The cross-sectional area of the flat strip used must be at least 100 mm2.
For grounding (earthing) I used:
4 grounding electrodes (grounding stakes) 1.5 m long
12 m galvanized flat strip 40 mm wide and 4 mm thick
screws, washers, clamping nuts
anti-corrosion tape
The trench can be linear or triangular, but long enough so that the distance between the stakes is double their length, in my case the distance was 3 m. The stakes are driven into the ground, holes are made in the flat strip and they are fastened with stake screws. You can also use clamps that you can find in stores. Attention!! Avoid using welding so as not to damage the anti-rust protection. Then insulate the screws and the head of the posts with special tape to prevent rusting.
Finally, call a licensed electrician to measure the grounding resistance to ensure that the work was done correctly and to be able to make the connections to it.
