Shielding Perpetrators Through “Islamophobia”
Islamophobia is often described as irrational fear or hatred of Muslims and the harm caused by it equates to misogyny, racism, homophobia and antisemitism. But where does criticism of religion ends and discrimination begins? How is Islamophobia different from misogyny, homophobia, antisemitism, racism or other forms of violence? Why are we not allowed to criticize a religion marred with misogyny, homophobia, xenophobia, antisemitism and pure violence? Why can't we, as survivors of Islam, discuss the harm we were subjected to?
