The main advantage of LED ring lights are that they are low powered and energy-efficient. They're rated to last 100,000 hours so there's no real need to regularly replace bulbs unlike the fluorescent equivalent. There's also no real heat dissipation from the unit so it's perfect for use all day, especially in make up or beauty photography/video environments.
We perform a controlled lighting test in a studio environment at 4:36 and test the intensity of the light up against a single subject.
