The Galaxy A35 is a good phone, with some aspects even better than the A54. That's why, if you find them at similar prices, the A35 is a better option because:
It has an extra year of updates;
It has a larger screen;
The selfie camera is better in video mode.
But of course, there are other brands that will give you better products for the same price, such as the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus or the Nothing Phone 2a; both phones that I've reviewed on this channel and are highly recommended.
