Hey there, pop-culture junkies, I'm Jager Weatherby from http://www.wetpaint.com. While being a huge TV or movie star might seem glamorous, it usually means long, exhausting days filming the same scenes over and over and over again. And after spending hours cooped up together on set, some of our fave stars just couldn't help but getting frisky after the cameras stopped rolling. Here's our list of famous couples who burned up the screen together — and then got hot-and-heavy afterward.
By now, the cast of Gossip Girl is well accustomed to the never-ending Upper East Side bed-hopping — but for some of the starlets, steamy onscreen chemistry can translate into real-life romance. For three years, Blake Lively dated her oh-so-dishy co-star, Penn Badgley; and GG's queen bee, Leighton Meester, was lovey-dovey with bit-player, Sebastian Stan. Sadly — but true to the "love-em-and-leave-em" spirit of Gossip Girl itself — both of those seemingly solid couples are now officially dunzo.
Die-hard True Blood fans know that Bon Temps is famous for two things: blood-thirsty vampires, and sweat-beaded brows (seriously, doesn't anybody down there own a fan, or at least a handkerchief?). Anyway, all that sweltering, sweaty heat must have gotten the best of star, Anna Paquin, who wasted no time sinking her her teeth into her hunky co-star, Stephen Moyer. The two counterparts, the pair tied the knot last August.
Speaking of lusty vamps, Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar met her 90s heartthrob hubby, Freddie Prinze, Jr., while filming the slasher flick I Know What You Did Last Summer. And in a related bit of breaking TV news, Buffy fans will be delighted to hear that Gellar is returning to the small screen next fall when her new drama, Ringers, airs on the CW.
And of course there are heaps of other Hollywood A-Listers who have ended up canoodling with their co-stars — like Grey's alum Katherine Heigl, who met her singer hubby, Josh Kelly, on the set of his music video. Or everyone's favorite serial killer, Dexter's Michael C Hall, who married (and divorced!) his on-screen sister, actress Jennifer Carpenter — which, sorry Dexter fans, still kind of gives us the creeps!. But our number one pick for couples who met on set isn't Kelly Rippa and Mark Conseulos, or even Will Smith and Jada Pinkett, but none other than Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The pair met in 2004 while filming Mr & Mrs Smith, a movie made famous not for its big box-office business, but for breaking up Brad's marriage to Friends star Jennifer Aniston. Ouch! — that one still hurts.
