between inspiration and regulation
To truly go wild on stage, I understand that I must dive deep into mastering every detail and function of all my tools. The local grand pianos, my good old Fender Rhodes, four intertwined synthesizers of various styles, a drum machine that needs to understand some very confusing initial ideas of mine, playing like a monkey on my Handsonic Pad— all interacting with 13 pedals, loopers and effects on the floor — must become an extension of my body, so that I don’t waste a single thought on how to prepare anything.
In this state of mastery, I can truly embrace spontaneity, letting the melodies flow as I connect with the audience in a profound way. 🕹️
