Skrime Skrime is a music genre created in early 2011 in Reading, UK. Skrime is generally considered to be the first use of ska and grime music to create a hip hop infused reggae sound. It is believed that 2 piece Orts Road based band "Confident in the Back Passage" were the first skrime band on the scence influencing the likes of "Mouthwash". Skrime acts have previously gone underground or been incorrectly labelled as ska core or reggae ska which created a gap in the music scene. Skrime mc's have a distinct difference to grime mc's with an unusual singing style mixed with fast paced rap. This style is known as 'skritting'. With a slow paced reggae ska beat but a fast paced mc an aggresive yet melodic sound is created.
