In this video, I offer my greetings from the International Astronautical Congress held in Sydney, Australia, thousands of kilometers from home. I arrived here after a 20-hour journey and am sharing the excitement of the congress with you. I discuss Türkiye's breakthroughs in space and aviation, focusing on the 70th congress convened here before the 71st congress to be held in Antalya next year.
In this video, we delve into the discussions surrounding the F-110 engines, which our Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Hakan Fidan, mentioned in an interview in the United States. Speculation, which began after Congress delayed engine approval, has escalated to claims that the KAAN fighter jet project is "junk." However, some of these claims stem from ignorance, while others stem from malicious intent. In the video, I provide a detailed account of KAAN's prototype production, testing processes, the limitations of American engines, and Türkiye's backup plans. I also discuss our domestic engine development efforts (projects such as the TF-6000, TF-10000, and TF-35000), our success stories with the Gökbey helicopter example, the Red Apple unmanned combat aircraft developments, and the agreements signed with Indonesia. I offer a broad perspective, including how Türkiye has achieved defense industry independence, how it has developed domestic solutions to counter embargoes, and Baykar Technology's space projects.
