I tested the Originality AI Humanizer to see if it can actually reduce AI detection scores
I generated three different texts using ChatGPT. Each one was around 200 words, and covered different topics. Then I checked them in GPTZero and ZeroGPT to get baseline results. After that, I ran each text through the humanizer in both Standard and SEO mode and tested them again.
Here are the detection results.
Every single output still shows 100% AI on both GPTZero and ZeroGPT. That already tells us a lot.
Now, to be fair the tool does have a few features. You can choose between different tones like Standard or SEO, and there’s also a length slider. It actually keeps the word count pretty stable, which is nice if you need to stay within limits.
But at the same time, that might be part of the problem.
Because when you look at the actual output, it barely changes anything.
The sentences stay almost identical. Phrases like “one of the most transformative forces” or “at its core” are still there. Even em-dashes are left untouched, which are often strong AI signals.
So yes the text still reads well but that’s mostly because it’s still basically the same AI text.
And that explains why detection scores don’t move.
The humanizer itself is free, but limited to 300 words per session unless you create an account. That means if you want to test multiple texts, you’ll probably need workarounds.
There are also paid plans, but those are mainly for detection tools, not for improving the humanizer itself.
The policy is actually quite clear. They collect standard data like email, IP, and usage info. Payments go through Stripe, so they don’t store card details.
One important thing though - by default your content can be used to improve their systems. There is an opt-out option, which is good, but you need to enable it manually.
So overall, the tool looks clean, works smoothly… but when it comes to detection results, it doesn’t really solve the main problem.
