School-Link Central Coast Primary School Expo
The third Mental Health and Schools Conference was held
recently, in partnership with the Department of Education,
Catholic Schools and Independent Schools.
The Conference aimed to provide up to date youth mental health
and wellbeing information to school staff.
140 people attended the conference and learnt about increasing
mental health literacy and how to identify the early signs of
mental health problems. The schools were given strategies to
help them reduce the stigma of mental health problems and
increase help seeking behaviour among young people.
Schools were also encouraged to adopt a ‘Whole of School’
approach to increase mental health awareness.
Participants on the day provided positive feedback saying they
gained useful knowledge and skills that could be implemented
back in the school and classroom setting.
