Telex Across the Internet Using Port Forwarding
The idea of borrowing the internets' wires to connect a radio to a console has always been a desire that I thought just wasn't practically possible. But year after year of watching gamers linking using port forwarding, I always wondered what if. Telex devices are not intelligent, with nothing to hack. As long as you can keep a static public ip address there are no issues.
In this video I demonstrate how you can remotely control a BK M150 radio using a Telex IP-223 in console mode with a tone remote, and an IP-223 in local mode. Connection between the 2 devices is achieved by sending unicast udp packets that are port forwarded across the isp routers. This example is using a Verizon Gateway cellular modem/router to show connectivity can be anywhere you can get a signal.
