WiSdOm - Postman Basic Authentication
Today we are going to learn two types of Basic Authentications in POSTMAN
Endpoint - https://postman-echo.com/basic-auth
Type 01
Basic Authentication using encoded password
1. Open Postman
2. Create a GET request with above end point
3. Go to Headers
4. Add Key Value pairs as Authorization and Basic postman:password
Username - postman
Password - password
5. Run
6. It will give an error since basic authentication require the username and password to be encoded.
7. Go to Base64 in your browser to encode username and password
8. Copy and paste the username and password
9. Click on ENCODE
10.Copy and paste the encoded values in postman
11.Run request
Type 02
Basic Authentication using postman itself encoded password
1. From above steps clear the headers
2. Go to Authorization
3. Select Type as Basic Auth
4. Add Username and Password
5. Run
