Hogwarts Legacy is a single-player open-world action role-playing game with multiple difficulty and accessibility options. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry will offer classes such as spells, defense against the dark arts, herbology and potions. Locations from the Harry Potter franchise include the Forbidden Forest, Gringotts Wizarding Bank, and the village of Hogsmeade, which will be available to explore, as well as other areas that have not yet appeared in other titles, such as the Hufflepuff common room. As you progress through the game, these locations will visually change depending on the time of year in the game. The world is made up of 16 regions, including Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. The total area was approximately 7.65 square kilometers.
The player's character will learn to cast various magic spells, brew potions and master combat abilities. As you progress, players will be able to develop their own special fighting style. In combat, items purchased or crafted can be used to harm enemies or create obstacles or enhance the player's character. There will be taming, grooming and riding magical beasts. Dragons, trolls, hippogriffs, and nifflers are shown as creatures that can be interacted with in the gameplay video. Some creatures can be used in combat, such as the mandrake to stun enemies.
