My name is Joel Cohen, and you're watching Talks On Law. I’m going to explain what is a TOL Brief. Let’s get to it.
A TOL Brief is the perfect legal explainer in five minutes or less. It’s not a law school course, it’s a simple but powerful response to a specific question.
So what’s an example of a TOL Brief? They can be questions from you daily life, such as when can the police search my car, when can the government read your emails. It could also be questions like who owns my sperm after I’m dead, or does Donald Trump own his name. TOL briefs can also speak to the crucial social justice issues of our time, such as when can the police use deadly force?
Our TOL Briefs are all made by lawyers. Law students can make it as well, but only when supervised by a lawyer or a law professor. And how do we decide what goes up and want doesn’t? While we receive submissions from across the country and around the world, we only put the best briefs that meet our rigorous criteria. We're not just talking about video quality and audio quality. Our TOL Briefs are made by lawyers that are the perfect combination of knowledgeable and inspired to communicate in a way that you can both understand and enjoy.
That’s a TOL Brief, and I’m Joel Cohen.
