Basic Indesign User Guide for Graphic Design Students at the University of Architecture, Magazine Design / Layout Design

Lesson 5: Check InDesign files before exporting and how to export files, package files
Checklist before printing:
Check image and text links until InDesign no longer reports errors (No errors)
Check image quality (Effective PPI 300)
Check if all images have been converted to CMYK (for offset printing, digital printing can skip this step because the printer can convert CMYK without significantly affecting the color)
Check if all background color images have been designed to overflow the bleeds
Check if the 2-page overflow images have been left on the spine (if the book is bound with glue)
After the file has passed the above checklist, go to File/Export - Select PDF format (Print) - OK
On the General tab - Select Adobe PDF Preset [High Quality Print]
In the Pages section, enter the correct number of pages you want to export into the Range box or select All to export all pages in the InDesign file
In the Marks and Bleeds tab, check the Use Document Bleed Setting box
Then select Export and your file is ready to be sent to the printer.
