Sword Art Online is one of the most influential anime of the last decade. Despite it's flaws, Kirito and Asuna have become universal favorites of anime viewers everywhere. But there's so much more to SAO's story than just futuristic gaming technology. On the contrary, Kirito's path through various games and now in the Underworld of Alicization is just a glimpse into the much larger picture of our collective future and what it means to be in sync with both the real and virtual world.
