Hey stay true gang! Glad you all made it back to another video! First I wanted to say thank you for all of the feedback and people who have subscribed to my channel! All I ever want to do is spread the knowledge I have from my own personal experiences during my transition as well as share my lifestyle with you. So thank you for tuning in and showing so much support!
So as most of you may know I have had top surgery over 3yrs ago! Crazy! The steps I took were rather simple it just took a little research on google and reaching out to transmit/nonbinary friends who have already had their surgery. From there I narrowed it down to which results I liked the most and from there I researched the doctor and browsed their gallery. Once finding the surgeon who I thought had the best results. I called and asked if they took the insurance I had at the time (Blue cross/blue shield) and they did! I was fortunate enough to find a surgeon 30 minutes from my house and who also took my insurance so from here I KNEW he was the one. I then made my consultation (here we discussed the procedure/recovery time/medications and surgery date!)
As I said in the video each state has different rules and regulations when it comes to insurance ( this is the "hardest" part only because you may have to make a few phone calls to your insurance company because a lot comes down to their decision but after that everything is smooth sailing!
Steps in order:
1. RESEARCH (BASIC INFO/FIND A SURGEON)
2.CALL YOUR INSURANCE (DOES SURGEON TAKE YOUR INSURANCE)
3. CONSULTATION (ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE)
4. PLAN FOR TRAVEL (IF YOU HAVE TO TRAVEL
5.PLAN FOR YOUR RECOVERY (HOW LONG WILL YOU BE OUT?)
I hope this was helpful, again different states may require different things through insurance but overall the process is the same :)
Love y'all see you in the next one😊
