If I had to pick a waifu, this girl would be on the list of names no doubt. Highly recommend the anime, it's a classic and easy to get into. I've watched this series twice over the years, and both times it was just as good. A very easy fun watch. It's good to watch/rewatch around Christmas time.

Wanted to do up 'something' to get out of my pit of misery. And this anime was one of the few that wasn't hardsubbed, so I went with it for an amv character profile tribute video of some kind. Doing it of Asebi was a no brainer for me, I love her so much.

Honestly working on this created alot of short-term joy. I ran into frustrations as per usual, but it made me happier than any of the other stuff I did to try and relax. I just worked on it bit by bit inbetween other stuff, so I've had time to sit with the ideas and improve it over and over. I wanted to make something more refined. It's still simple....just I wanted it to be better quality than what I've output to date. Which is painful to say because while I may reach my vision in the editor, it never translates to the render AND to youtube in the same manner...for really anything I've made to date.

What did I do that's new? Well, first time in earnest dealing with more than 1-2 episodes on a project. Went through the entire series for Asebi scenes. I paired all audio and video together via meta strips and just kept them as meta strips. Literally all the audio for the scenes shown (and more!) you can hear if you listen close. I messed around with crop/scale a bit like i wanted to try. I madeup most of the text fonts in inkscape and just inserted them as png overlays. I messed around with the audio alot this time. I ended up just rendering it with the video as aac, as it was the most acceptable sounding and easiest method in this case. Just wasn't sounding right at a higher setting like .wav f32 or .wav s16. I really need help with audio mixing, cause I'm still not fully understanding how I should be doing things. The waveform is close to being maximized throughout, using the full range of frequencies, just before clipping. I don't get if that's the ideal or not though. Should I have lowered everything down and then made explosions and little effects takeup that last half of the waveform? or does that mean less impact and data for everything except those bits? so many little questions..
My rambling is pretty boring.

Special thanks to Kikka for giving me some feedback to improve things further. I tend to lose track of what is and isn't good after I watch things xx times. Hopefully its good enough at this point to share with....well, if even one person is moved in some way by this... that's good enough. It made me happy working on it, hopefully it makes you happy or creates some other worthwhile emotion.
Thanks for watching/reading :)
