The Blueprint is the sixth album by American rapper Jay-Z, released on September 11, 2001, through Roc-A-Fella Records and Def Jam Recordings. It was released a week earlier than planned to avoid bootlegging. The album was recorded in 2001 at Manhattan Center Studios and Baseline Studios in New York City. Unlike Jay-Z's earlier work, The Blueprint uses soul-based sampling and is produced mainly by Kanye West, Just Blaze, and Bink. Timbaland, Trackmasters, and Eminem also contribute, with Eminem being the only guest feature on the album.
