Welcome to W3H Videos. Today, we'll master the art of using Relight OFX in Davinci Resolve. Join us on this enlightening journey as we uncover the secrets to efficient lighting techniques, perfect for those working on a low-end PC.
First, we'll set up a surface map to catch the light, ensuring we optimize every aspect:
Drag Relight OFX into your node tree.
Right-click and choose 'Node Cache.'
Change 'Surface Map' to 'Internal.'
Confirm by checking 'Output Source Map.'
Let's label this node as our 'Surface Map.'
Now, let's create the light:
Drag Relight OFX once again to create the light.
Connect your image to Input 1.
Attach the surface map to Input 2.
Turn on 'Relight Map Preview.'
Choose the type of light that suits your vision.
Next, let's fine-tune the light:
Add a corrector node to control the light precisely.
Connect it between the image and the output.
Attach the light output to the corrector node (key input).
Let's name this node 'Adjustment.'
Here's where you can truly control the light, adjusting parameters such as Lift, Gamma, Gain, and more.
For focused lighting:
Use a power window to emphasize specific areas.
For even more precise control:
Create a depth map using another corrector node.
Connect it to the image and incorporate the depth map.
Turn on 'Depth Preview.'
Connect the output to the light node's first key input.
Adjust the key output in the corrector node to control light on the foreground or background.
Additionally, you can modify the light area using blur or shrink and grow OFX:
Insert a new node between the light and the correction node.
