Rollback Records in Salesforce Flow
In today's video, I will delve deep into the advanced features of Salesforce Flow - "Rollback Elements".
To roll back a transaction and cancel all its pending record changes in a screen flow, add the new Roll Back Records element in a fault path. Previously, when a transaction ended, its pending record changes were saved to the database even if a flow element failed in the transaction.
🚀 Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic in Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.
🚀 Why: Oftentimes, when a flow element fails, you also want to cancel pending record changes that make sense only when the flow element succeeds. If the element fails, saving the pending record changes in the current transaction doesn't make sense. For example, your screen flow creates a lead and the associated appointment. The flow ends with the Screen element that shows a success message. The Create Records element for the appointment has a fault connector to the Roll Back Records element. After the Roll Back Records element, the flow executes the initial Screen element.
