Z Nation "Tribal Vibes" Music Video by Jerry Shadoe
So a lot of people, including myself, really liked the tribal-techno jam they played on Z Nation's Season 2 Episode 10 during the Grand Canyon Scene at the end of the episode.
Many people have tried to find that same mix elsewhere, without the dialog and sfx present in the episode, and some have come close but no exact match so far.
I decided to take the scene and re-cut it into a music video, where I removed nearly all dialog and a lot of the sfx without degrading the audio because I used the 5.1 audio mix and carefully reconstructed the audio into a 2.0 format (as some parts of the track were cleanest using the rear surround channels, so some "tricks" where played to make it sound right)
I also recut the video a little bit, so as to exclude the "interruption" of the music, when we see Murphy screaming and changed the ending to fit this music better, versus the original ending that was "catered" towards the storyline. I also slightly boosted the brightness, contrast, and saturation, after which I reduced the reds and greens a little bit, while boosting the blues. Then I overlayed it with real 35mm film grain and rendered the entire thing out.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with it and wanted to share this, since I know there is a lot of fans of the music they used for this part.
I decided to call the music video "Tribal Vibes" because it fits.
