Part 1 of a cinematic WW2 micro-series by SpitfireCGI, bringing to life a dramatic RAF Mosquito raid on a German U-Boat. This short features three distinct 10-second animated shots of the same scene, with Mosquitos strafing the surfaced U-Boat — all grounded in authentic historical research and enhanced with original, in-house sound design.
Nicknamed the “Wooden Wonder,” the De Havilland DH.98 Mosquito was one of the fastest and most versatile aircraft of World War II, used for everything from reconnaissance to surgical strike missions. Here, we recreate a fictionalized yet plausible encounter: a Mosquito squadron ambushing a surfaced U-Boat before it can dive — a deadly race against time in the open Atlantic.
Each shot in this sequence offers a different cinematic point of view, capturing the speed, danger, and intensity of WW2 aerial warfare. Every detail — from flight paths to the shape of the spray on impact — is carefully crafted to reflect real rhubarb (opportunistic ) tactics and physics of the era.
🚀 Part 2 incoming soon , with three more animated angles continuing the same attack from new perspectives more from a point of view of the submarines crew.
