After her stroke, Svetlana Sergeevna became completely dependent on others. She lost movement on the left side of her body, and her speech became slurred and incomprehensible to others.
At our center, Svetlana Sergeevna relearned how to roll over and transfer from her bed to her wheelchair and back. She then learned to stand and move around under the supervision of a physical therapist. Sessions with a neuropsychologist improved her speech and emotional well-being.
"I was swaying from side to side. I couldn't sit or stand, much less walk. Now I can use my hand (which was previously immobile) to pick up a glass of water and bring it to my mouth," says Svetlana Sergeevna. "I don't want anyone to worry if this happened."
After rehabilitation, Svetlana Sergeevna no longer needs caregivers—she performs household tasks herself and can prepare a simple meal. She maintains her balance well and can walk 50 meters without support.
