⚙️ HOW IT WORKS
Haemers Technologies is a Belgian company specialized in soil remediation by thermal desorption for more than 25 years. Through our innovative technologies: The Smart Burners (including in-situ and ex-situ remediation), we are able to eliminate pollution and contaminants in the soil. We perform a complete soil treatment, even reusing the pollutants by reburning the polluted vapors obtained after the soil heating.
Through these videos, we show some techniques and processes related to our thermal desorption technology.
Today, we analyze how our technology works for remediation.
The principle is a two phases process:
🌱 The soil is heated long enough up to a temperature where contaminants vaporize. The soil is heated by metal heating tubes put into the soil, through which hot air is circulating. Combustion gasses are then sent to the atmosphere.
🌫️ The polluted vapors are extracted, and the contaminants are recycled, either through a separate vapor extraction network (as liquids after condensation) or as fuel in the Smart Burners themselves.
The result is a clean soil in a short timeframe with either zero or minimal waste production. Soil can be re-used, and no organic contamination is left behind.
ISTD can solve remediation problems which could not be solved with other technologies. This is the perfect answer in urban areas, under existing buildings or for deep contamination. Each smart burner is designed for in-situ works in open, as well as in confined environments (such as basements or existing buildings).
