🔑 Key coaching points:
Place your hands on a stable elevated surface
Keep your body in a straight line from head to heels
Brace your core throughout the movement
Lower yourself with control
Push evenly through both hands
Breathe out through your mouth as you press up
❌ Common mistakes:
Hips sagging or lifting too high
Using momentum instead of control
Elbows flaring too wide
Not using full range of motion
🔽 Regressions (make it easier):
Use a higher surface like a wall or countertop
Reduce range of motion slightly while learning
🔼 Progressions (make it harder):
Lower the incline height
Slow down the tempo
Add pauses at the bottom
Progress toward full push ups
🎯 Pro tip:
The lower the surface, the harder the exercise becomes. Focus on perfect control before progressing.
