THE CASKET
How far can you go in the quest of riches and power? The story began where these two grown sons lived together with their widowed mother and little sister. The two sons strive to make earnings so that the family can be able to feed each day. Their mother seriously fell sick, and their earning were anywhere close to cater for the hospital bills since the boys only engaged in the sales of chilled water. They had no option but to seek the help of their rich uncle who always helps them in time of need.
On one faithful day, no one seems find out where the second son Selikem went to. Weeks pass by and he never return home. The first son Dzidefo discussed with the mother to go to the city to hustle since things remained unchanged in their life so long, as a Christian family he prayed before taking off.
Years pass by and Dzidefo came back rich, build a house, where he moved his family to, and also got married to a beautiful woman. However, everyone seems to be suspicious of Dzidefo’s sudden wealth including his own family, especially since he has a secrete room in the house, where he alone enters to every morning.
Indeed money cannot buy life, despite the wealth, thier mother died on one faithful day, and to everyone’s amazement, Selikem also came back very rich after so many years. Dzidefo and Selikem had difference during their mother’s funeral arrangement, since Dzidefo wants to do it the way his mother wished whiles she was alive, and Selikem on the other hand, wants to do it in his own flamboyant way. This brought in a continuous confusion between the two sons and also with their uncle.
At the funeral, Selikem ordered his men to rob their mother’s corps. While the corps was secretly hidden at a morgue, their uncle also took advantage of the situation and took the corps from there. These generated in more gruesome arguments since the two sons kept pointing figures at each other for hiding their mother’s corps. These arguments resulted into everyone pointing figures at Dzidefo for being ritualist. On his quest to prove to the people that his innocent, he agreed to take them inside the house to show them what he was keeping in the secrete room.
The question following these situation is that, is Dzidefo truly innocent? And if he is, then who could be the evil one here? Is it Selikem, who just came back after their mother died, or their uncle who also took interest in stealing their mother’s corps? This is the intriguing suspense the movie “The Casket” seeks to unravel to its viewers.
