Mauritius ratified ILO Convention 190 in 2021. Transport workers unions in Mauritius played a significant role in building strong national and international lobbying and awareness on the need for ratification of C190. The work doesn’t end with ratification, it is a long journey still to ensure successful implementation through shared accountability, educational work to make the law accessible and ratification resulting into systemic change.
